課程概述 |
Since the United Nations (UN) has announced the Sustainable Development Goals is over five years. These 17-SDGs is embedded everywhere in the past few years, such as in a new building advertisement, in TV shows, and NTU's annual report. However, are we know the actual meaning behind these 17 SDGs goals or use them as tools?
In the first stage (from week 2 to week 12), this course will introduce the SDGs by reviewing a classic book < The Age of Sustainable Development > written by Jeffrey D. Sachs in 2015 and inviting students to visit the SDG Academy website (https://sdgacademy.org/).
The students will be grouped into about 4-5 each; in an ideal setting, each team will have students majoring in natural science, engineering, social science, and one student from the outside of the NTU. In this stage, this course will focus on the book < The Age of Sustainable Development >. One of the students in each team needs to lead the book chapter's discussion in the first hour. In the second hour, each team will update the current status via the online resource (e.g., the SDG Academy website, the SDSN website…etc.) and summarize their finding on a one-A4 page.
In the second stage (from week 13 to week 16), this course will invite each team to review one SDGs-related report (based on their interest), such as the NTU University Social Responsibility (USR) report…etc.
Each group needs to choose one target report, analyzing the background of this report (such as authority issues, what problems it address…), and provide their comments on this report as their final report.
This course will conduct in the Gather town. |
